Getting started

TiffToPDF program is very easy to use.
All you need to do is to choose the image documents you intend to convert and modify the program settings according to your preferences. After that you just need to click the "Make PDF " button.

You may leave the default settings.
However, you may want to modify them to adjust some PDF parameters in order to make them more suitable for your design.

1．File:

            Add Files: Add image files to file list
      Add Directories: Add in the directory all image files to the file list
      Make PDF: Start to create PDF file(s)
      To Monitor: Set monitor directory and monitor convert.
      Setting:Set conversion options
      Exit: Exit the software.

2．Scan:

Acquire: Scan to PDF file using scanner.
Select source: Select scanner from local computer.
Show UI: Show or hide scanner interface when scan to PDF file.
Advanced->Setup: Setup scanner parameters.
Advanced->Automatic Feeding: This option will improve the speed for most scanners, but it will incompatible with a few scanners.

3．View:

List Toolbar: Show/Hide the list toolbar (right of main window)
Main Toolbar: Show/Hide the mian toolbar (bottom of main window)
Statusbar: Show/Hide the statusbar (bottom of main window)
Always Top Most: enable/disable the main window at top screen always.

File List(middle of main windows) Options:

1. You may click File List Header to sort the file's order in the generated PDF file

2. Drag and drop files from Windows Explorer

3. Right Button Menu Options:

Add Files: Add image files to file list
Add Directories: Add in the directory all image files to the file list
Make PDF: Start to create PDF file(s)
Preview Tiff Files: Show the Tiff Document
Browse Destination: Show the destination pdf files
Edit Selected Items: Edit the selected items attribute from the file list. (see following picture).
Delete Selected Items: Delete the selected items from the file list
Clear All Items: Remove all image files from file list
Move Up: move up the selected items to previous.
Move Down: move down the selected items to next.

Main Tools Bar(bottom of main window) Options:

Add Files: Add image files to file list
        Add Directories: Add in the directory all image files to the file list (supports sub directory)
        Setting: Set conversion options
        Make PDF: Start to create PDF file(s)

List Toolbar(right of main window) (same with right button menu)

Add File or Add Directories should either be a TIFF file or a directory containing TIFF files (*.tif or *.tiff). When a directory is specified, all TIFF files in that directory are imported into the output PDF file in the alphabetical order.

Options of setting interface:

Base Setting

Output mode:
            Combine multiple files into one PDF file: Combine all files in file list into one PDF file.
            Convert one file to one PDF files: Convert to one PDF file for each image file.
            Convert one directory to one PDF file: Convert to one PDF file for each directory.
            Convert one file to multiple PDF files: Split the multi-page images to single-page of PDF file.
If pdf fiels exists:
           Overwrite: Overwrite the PDF file that exists
           Append: Append to the PDF file that exists
           Skip: skip the PDF file that exists
When pdf files is ready:(after converted):
           View pdf file: View PDF file as soon as it be created.
           Delete source files : Delete the souce file after as soon as it be created.
           View log file: record and view the log file.
           Execute command: execute a program as soon as it be created.

Tiff Process

            Tiff Process: Color and Graycale Image can support Lzw,Zip,Packbits,Jpeg compress arithmetic.
                                Black-white Image can support Lzw,Zip,CCITT G3/G4 compress arithmetic.
            Black-white Image can support follow arithmetic too:
                    Skew correct: Auto skew correct in processing.
           Jpeg quality: vernier control the jpeg quality if selected jpeg compress arithmetic

Page Setting ( the generated PDF file)

Page size
    the page size of the generated pdf file, it support A3,A4,A5.B5,Letter,Legal and ImageSize(self-adapting image page size) and Custom(user can specify the page size).
DPI : user can specify the dpi in the generated pdf file, it can support that range from 72 to1200 and default(self-adapting image DPI)
Note: the dpi 72 is acrobat viewer default value.
Page layout
    The Page Layout options allow you to control the eventual output of your content.
1 up: use this setting when you want to generated a pdf document in the same image size .
2 up: generated at 2 up which results in a 50% reduction in resulted page.
4 up: the image is generally readable usage are reduced by 25%.
9 up and 16 up: these setting is a good choice for handouts of presentations or any other document.

Ordering
    Down - draws the pages down before drawing them across the sheet of page in 2,4,9 and 16 up modes. For example, in 4 up mode, the page ordering would be:

    Across - draws the pages across before drawing them down the sheet of page in 2,4,9 and 16 up modes. For example, in 4 up mode, the page ordering would be:

Page 3 Page 4

Repeat
Checking this box will repeat each the same page in each available slot on a sheet. For example, if the layout is set to 4 up, 4 of the same page will appear on the sheet.
Borders
Draws borders around each page
Separate
When converting multiple images, it is sometimes useful to have each image begin on a new sheet so that is easier to determine where each images begins.

Image position
Reset the image size on resulted page. the options are:

Stretch - streatch the image size for resulted page.
Fit width/height - self-adapting width and height. (default)

Orientation
Set this option to follow orientation : 0(portrait), 90(landscape), 180(portrait) or 270(landscape) .

Margin
Set margin for each page.

Watermark

Set watermark options in each page in generated PDF file(s).
Page header and Page footer - local time, local data, page NO., path and filename
Text warermark - support position ,size and color setting.
Image watermark - support bmp,jpg,tif images.

Encrypt

Set encryption options in generated PDF file(s).
Permission
Password protection for PDF files with 40 or 128 bit encryption.
Level
Set file permissions to restrict printing, copying, and future modifications to the document.

PDF info

Set information options in generated PDF file(s).

Bookmark

Set bookmark in generated PDF file(s).

Set pdf viewer preferences in generated PDF file(s).

Monitor window:

By use this function , you can automatic convert the files in monitored folder.
Delete source files - the source files be deleted after converted. (unrestore)
Monitor be start when the program startup.
